About SHSPHS & Lead school collaboration
ShriHarkrishan Sahib Public High School is proud to announce its collaboration with Lead Schoolto make our classroom learning blended.
While we have always encouraged our students to aim high, similar has been our focus in improving our systems to provide our students with better resources, refined pedagogy and upgraded technology. While, we were able to do a great job with our classroom learning management system, of late, we had started thinking of ways to improve it further and that is when we decided to go with the blended learning system provided by Lead School. There are infinite benefits of such a dual mode of learning and we thought it would be wise to share them with our students and parents so that we all are aligned with the objectives of such an association. So, let us go through some of the superior advantages that such collaboration would bring for our students:
Benefit for students
- Multifaceted learning – With this collaboration, learning would be multifaceted. School lessons would be supplemented by smart board which would not only enhance the learning experience of students, but would also help teachers refine their teaching pedagogy. With recorded sessions available on the app, learning gets a boost. Students focus on the concepts (being taught in class) in a better way without worrying about simultaneously taking notes.
- Builds better communication among parents and teachers – Gone are the days when parents had to wait for a PTM to share their concerns with the teachers or get an update about their child’s performance. In this age of super connectivity, it was imperative to make parent teacher communication faster and better and that is when this collaboration with Lead school fills the gap so well. The app enables better and anytime communication with teacher and parents a reality. Messages can be exchanged real time and tracked whenever one wants to. Such a convenience is a welcome move by parents who would want to stay updated with their child’s performance on a regular basis.
- Note taking becomes more efficient – One of the major benefits of this ERP solution is that note taking by students becomes more efficient, less time taking and without missing out on any parts of the lecture. Recorded sessions make sure that students can revert back to the class lecture anytime they feel. This also means that while the session is going on, they can keep their full attention on what is being taught in class rather than noting it down and trying to make sense of it later. Such an approach in the past lead to a lot of stress on students to cope with the understanding the class lecture and writing them down at the same time. Technology now ensures that students focus on one thing at a time and imbibe it fully.
- Bridge course available to strengthen concepts – In case, a student needs to brush up any of the concepts taught in the former class or wants further clarity on a chapter taught in the previous grade, no need to look for tuition classes outside. With Bridge courses available on Lead School portal, this one common concern of parents is sorted for once and all. A lot of times, due to coping with multiple assignments and subjects, it happens that students end up with a weak conceptual clarity in a subject or two and then they have to go for extra tuitions to strengthen them during session break. With Bridge courses, this becomes easy and available whenever a student wants.
- Learning catered to the individual needs and pace of students – One of the stark differences between the traditional classroom teaching and blended learning is the ability of the later to cater to the pace and needs of different students. With this association, we want to make sure that every student gets focused attention from teachers irrespective of the mode of learning. With resources made available online and within easy reach of the students, no matter at which level a student is, he (she) would be able to pick up and grasp the concepts at his (her) own pace. Provision to revise the topics regularly and refresher courses will make sure that students learn at their own speed.
- Increased automation provides convenience to parents and students– One of the biggest advantages of this is the amount of automation that it has brought to class management and the resulting convenience. Now, for any attendance, resource or classroom related issue, parents do not need to send a note in school diary. A one click login to the app and they would get to know every detail about the attendance of their child, progress made in every subject, homework given, notes provided, assignments to be completed, schedule of exams and class tests, project details, submission dates and every other query. All of this data is available at the button of few buttons anytime and anywhere!
- No interruption in classes due to any external factor– While Covid-19 was the single biggest disruptor of life and business in 2020, but we have had other mini disruptors of school before this. External factors like strikes, pollution, weather, fog etc. made sure that there were frequent school closures throughout the year. Such closures were often unplanned and sudden and hence they derailed the entire curriculum and put additional pressure on students and parents to complete the left over school syllabus at home. With online learning, all one would have to do is reschedule classes from offline to online mode and no matter what happens in the outside world, a student would still be able to attend his (her) class, complete the syllabus on time and sit for tests.
- Increased engagement from students – Students of this generation have been born and brought up in a world where technology plays a key role in their life. So, this transition from offline to blended learning would be a natural sync in their scheme of things. Feedback from other schools that have implemented this solution has shown that student participation increases manifold with this since students are already used to being part of such platforms through their social media engagement and hence they find learning more fun and interactive.
